Over the years, the Rotman Commerce Accounting Society has partnered with several nonprofit organizations to bring awareness and help to serious issues within the world. Some of the organizations are located locally, while others on an international platform.
Make A Wish Foundation
At Make-A-Wish, individuals aspire to fulfill their mission – to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
Youth Without Shelter
Youth Without Shelter is an emergency residence and referral agency serving homeless youth. They are dedicated to providing shelter and support programs for homeless youth ages 16-24. They provide an independent shelter, committed to diverse, client-focused services, in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Their programs enable youth to live responsibly and independently in society.
As part of their ministry to reach out to underprivileged youth in the communities they serve, The Scott Mission operates a youth program in Toronto’s Lawrence Heights community. They also provide a youth focused program in the Parma Court community. From mentorship to leadership programs and community outreach initiatives, they are giving young people in this area hope for a better future.
Red Door Family Shelter
Since 1982, the Red Door has provided services for families and individuals who need safe and supportive emergency shelter. In the early 80’s there was only one other shelter operating in Toronto. Responding to the growing need for shelter space for homeless families, the Red Door was opened in the basement of the Woodgreen United Church by a group of volunteers. We have now grown to be one of the largest family shelters in the city, providing shelter and support to over 500 families every year.
